Our innovative and eclectic 2025/2026 Concert Season is currently being finalised but will feature a joint concert with Bury Choral Society with an American theme, and a Memorial Concert to celebrate the life of Richard Fairbank and his 50+ years association with Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra, starring his good friend and orchestra clarinet partner of 25 years, John Gibson, ending with a performance of Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2 in E minor – a favourite work of Richard’s.

We will also have our usual festive-filled Christmas Concert in the grand surroundings of Gorton Monastery featuring seasonal and light music, plus six audience-participation carols.

Other highlights of the season being planned include performances of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 3 ‘Polish’ and Różycki’s little-heard but beautiful Violin Concerto in an evening of Polish music, plus a concert of all-British music including Arnold’s Scottish Dances and Elgar’s Symphony No. 1 in A flat.
