Spring Concert 27

Imperial grandeur is the order of the day in our Spring Concert, beginning with the overture to Borodin’s opera Prince Igor, of lush and shimmering melodies.  The king of all concertos, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat ‘Emperor’, will then dazzle you with its glorious virtuosity, beauty, and majestic tunes.  Gorton Philharmonic are delighted and honoured to welcome back the internationally-renowned Beethoven interpreter, recorded artist and published writer Artur Pereira to perform this.  The evening concludes with the epic Symphony No. 5 in E minor by Tchaikovsky – whose patron was Countess Nadezheda von Meck – rounding the evening off with its incredible power and passion, and a triumphant finale full of ceremonial splendour.
